If accepted as a gardener, I will abide by the following rules, terms, and conditions:

         3.         Once I have been assigned a plot, I will cultivate and plant it.  My plot cannot be left fallow or unused for any period of three weeks or longer.

         4.         My plot is 4x8 feet.  I will not expand my plot beyond this measurement or into paths or other plots.  I will keep all my plants within the limits of my garden plot and will not allow any plants to grow more than six feet high.  I must keep my plot free of weeds, pests and diseases.

         5.         I will keep my plot, paths, and surrounding areas clean and neat.  I will completely separate my trash into two groups: 1) dead plants, leaves, and other green waste plant parts; 2) paper, plastic, cardboard, wood, metal, etc. I will put each type of trash only in the areas designated specifically for each.  Anything I bring from my home I will take back home.  I will not bring household trash and leave it at the garden.

         6.         No Additions to the garden plan, example, Tires, pots, boats, etc without Leadership Team approval.

         7.         I will report any hazard, unsafe condition, or situation that could result in injury or ill health to the garden Leadership Team immediately.  I will eliminate the hazard or unsafe condition only if I am able to do it safely and feel comfortable taking the action to correct the hazard or unsafe condition.

         8.         I will not plant any illegal plant.  I will not drink alcoholic beverages, use illegal drugs or gamble in the garden.  I will not come to the garden while under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.  I will not bring weapons.

         9.         I am solely responsible for the behavior of my family/guests.  Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

       10.       No smoking on the garden grounds.  Be courteous to others and eliminate any fire hazards.

       11.       My pets are welcome in the garden, but must be leashed, stay on paths, and not eat or damage plants.  I will pick up after my pets and dispose of waste in the trash can.

       12.       I will attend regular garden club meetings.  I will help maintain the garden and participate at work parties as much as possible.

       13.       I will participate in the fall clean-up of the garden.

       14.       I will use organic products that are safe for people, pets and wildlife.  If there should be a concern and a pesticide is preferred, it is to be brought to the Leadership Team for approval.

       15.       I will conserve water when possible, coil hoses after using, and mulch when appropriate.

       16.       I will not take food or plants from other gardeners' plots.  I will not take anything from the garden that is not rightfully mine.

       17.       I will respect other gardeners, and I will not use abusive or profane language or discriminate against others.

       18.       I will bring any disagreement concerning any aspect of STCG to the Leadership Team and am assured a fair resolution.

       19.       If I must abandon my plot for any reason, I will notify the Leadership Team.

       20.       I will work to keep the garden a happy, secure, and enjoyable place where all participants can garden and socialize peacefully in a neighborly manner.

       21.       If I am unable to care for my plot for a time because of illness or vacation, I will ask a fellow gardener or the Leadership Team member for help with weeding and harvesting.

       22.       I understand there are no restrooms on the property. Urination and defecation on the grounds is not allowed.

These terms and conditions are in place so the STCG can grow, provide a healthy community atmosphere, and function as a pleasant place to garden.

·        If a violation occurs, STCG Leadership Team will send the plot member a warning in the mail. The warning will have the details of the violation and the deadline set for the plot member to fix the problem.

·        If the problem is not fixed by the deadline included in the warning, STCG Leadership Team will issue a second warning to be mailed to the violator. This warning will detail the violation, the deadline for fixing the problem, as well as the consequence of ignoring the warning, which is plot forfeit.

Compliance with the Terms and Conditions of STCG, detailed here, will ensure that the community garden grows and succeeds. Violations of the rules are regulated; any such violations will be dealt with by the STCG Leadership Team.
